Bike Wise New Zealand

Paul McArdle is a man on a mission. Motivated by the lack of kiwi kids biking to school and the rising rates of child obesity in New Zealand, Paul decided something had to be done. Having spoken to fellow parents who wanted their children to bike more often but were not always confident about their children biking on the road, Paul started the Bikes in Schools Project at the end of last year.

The Project aims to provide primary school children with regular and equal access to a bike and bike tracks within the school environment. It reduces barriers to biking for kids; the bikes, the helmets and the tracks are all there within the safety of the school grounds for the children to use daily.
