Bicycle Network Victoria published the 2011 Bicycle Spending Index (BiXE) in November 2011. The report compares expenditure on cycling projects across 98 Australian councils. Of the councils surveyed, 42% spent $5 and more per resident on cycling projects.

This report by the US National Cooperative Highway Research Program was released in May 2011. The report documents streamlined methods for meeting federal funding requirements for small-scale highway projects including active transport projects. For Australian readers it provides an interesting overview of the range of funding programs available in the US.
