Bike Week Events 

  • Gold Coast Bike Week Launch Party: Saturday 13 March, 2pm – 5pm

 

Bring your family and friends down to the launch party at the Broadwater Parklands with free bike hire, BMX pro demos, a mini-road safety obstacle course, live DJ and food.
If you ride your own bike to the park, you’ll be eligible for a free bike maintenance check and a free prize bag. Bike storage and shower facilities are available.

 

  • Currumbin Cruise: Monday 15 March, 6am – 7.30am

 

A ride for all abilities including beginners, this cruise takes you from Nobby’s to Currumbin along the beach, finishing at Burleigh for a well-deserved coffee.

 

  • Go for Gold Cycle Bunch: Tuesday 16 March and Thursday 18 March, 5.15am – 7.15am

 

Olympic gold medallist Sara Carrigan will share her riding techniques on this early morning social ride, which starts and finishes at Broadbeach. The cost is $20 and includes coffee and bio-mechanic body assessment.

 

  • Gold Coast Ride to Work, School or Uni Day: Wednesday 17 March, 6am – 8am

 

Leave the car at home and get some fresh air and exercise followed by a free breakfast at Central Park, Varsity Lakes. Be in the draw to win a new bike or other great prizes. Over 3,000 students from Varsity Lakes Primary and Varsity Lakes College are expected to participate in this event.

 

  • 10 Speed Dating: Friday 19 March, 6.30 - 8pm

 

A social ride with a difference going from Burleigh to Marina Mirage, where you’ll stop for refreshments, a chat and possibly some number swapping, before heading back to Burleigh. For riders 18 years and over. Remember to bring your lights.

 

  • GC BUG Coastal Circuit: Sunday 21 March, 7am – 11am

 

The newly formed Gold Coast BUG (Bicycle User Group) will lead this on-road journey for experienced riders, commencing at sleepy Paradise Point and cycling south to Point Danger, where as a result of a few coffee stops, you’ll be wide awake and pumped for your return journey. This ride finishes with a well-earned lunch.
